Check my pay: a Canadian overtime worksheet
Check weekly pay with daily hours and the provincial rule cited. Print a worksheet to discuss with payroll.
A worked example
Forty hours does not always mean no overtime. In this fictional BC example, four ten-hour days include eight hours of daily overtime. The general rule produces $1,100 gross: 32 hours at $25 and eight hours at $37.50.
Fictional amounts, not someone’s financial information. Opening the example recalculates it using current rules. The result shows its assumptions and source dates.

Result: Gross pay and the source rule. You can edit, compare, or print the worksheet without signing in.
How to use the worksheet
Enter your jurisdiction, hourly rate and hours for each day. Daily thresholds can change the answer even when the weekly total looks ordinary.
Review the assumptions before comparing the gross amount with your pay stub. An averaging agreement, occupation exemption or collective agreement can affect the rule.
Print the cited worksheet and check the dates, hours and wages with payroll. A worksheet is a starting point for a conversation, not a determination of a legal claim.
Start with the facts you know. A missing date, jurisdiction or expense can change the result. Keep estimates labelled as estimates, and use the source link to check the rule before making a decision. If a figure seems wrong, use the support page to describe the issue with fictional amounts.
Use it in your assistant
If NotchUp Pay Rules Canada is enabled in your ChatGPT or Claude account, try this prompt:
I work in BC at $25 an hour. My Sunday-to-Saturday hours were 0, 10, 10, 10, 10, 0, 0. What is my gross pay?
Availability depends on your account and the host’s plugin directory. This page does not imply marketplace approval. The web worksheet above works immediately, even without a connected assistant.
